Q & A

A lot of people today want to invest their money in point and shoot cameras and believe me choosing a right point and shoot today is not easy as the market is flooded with points and shoots starting from Rs. 400 to whopping Rs. 30,000.

Compact Camera

When Kodak said “you press the shutter and we do the rest” they referred to this market as Most of the people want to have a compact camera today in their home for shooting at holidays and family functions and for them the convenience of using the equipment is the top priority so that every person can operate it.
There are a lot of things one should consider before buying a compact camera.

Firstly, compact cameras come in both fixed lens as well as zoom versions. Before buying the same, decide on your budget as zoom ones will obviously be more expansive but have more usability as compared to fixed lenses ones.
Most of the cameras available have auto film winder and rewinder where the frame automatically reaches the first frame as soon as we close the back after loading the film, also the camera will automatically rewind the film as soon as the last frame in the film gets exposed.
Most of the camera also have mid roll rewind facility where you can rewind the roll in between if the need arises.
Most of the cameras have a flash inbuilt with modes like auto and manual off and some of them have different flash settings also like red-eye reduction which is used to avoid the red eye in the eyes of the person when we take the shoot of that person just in front of him.
Also there is fill in flash mode which is used to fill the shadow areas in bright daylight conditions.
Also there is slow-sync mode where we can balance the flash with available light to get the available background light.
Some of the cameras have eye sight diopter correction which is used by people wearing spectacles, with this diopter we can set the viewfinder accordingly so that we can see the image clearly in the viewfinder even if he is not wearing his spectacles.
These cameras also have different modes available like portrait, landscapes, close-ups, etc.
Also with a little money you can get the features like different shutter speeds, which is generally 1-1/500th of a sec and also different aperture settings.

Most of the cameras starting from mid range also have different ISO film speed settings which is nothing but the sensitivity of film to light like 100 ISO, 200 ISO, 400 ISO etc.

Then there are digital compact cameras also, which besides above feature also have an LCD panel in the back where you can see your photograph immediately in the LCD and can decide to keep it or delete it.
The major advantage of this is that amateur photographers do a lot of mistakes and waste a lot of film and seeing their result immediately will help in a lot of saving for them.
